A little about me…
Hi! My name’s Penny, founder of Small Blends Tea Co. Melbourne-born and raised, I’ve been a long time lover of all types of tea and its benefits - from a bold English Breakfast (or Irish or Russian) in the morning to a calming sleep tea filled with valerian root and passion flower.
Tea can be a delicious way to heal and sooth ailments and support your mind and body. My deep interest and love for tea, herbalism, and passion for blending flavours and recipes from around the world led to the founding of Small Blends Tea Co in late 2022 after extensive tea blend testing, sampling, supplier-searching, and all the fun and games that comes along with opening a small business!
The result is a selection of unique and original blends that play off the “classics” - such as our Breakfast Blend which features osmanthus and blackberry leaves for a fruity, apricot scent layered over the malty, smooth, smoky notes of Assam Black and Keemun Black tea.
Some of our functional blends also incorporate Australian native teas, such as jilungin in the Dream Time blend. My personal fav is the Blissful Calm blend which features native round leaf peppermint and catnip - both are combined with chamomile, skullcap, rose petals, and lavender for the ultimate tea chill out session!
Blended with care
Selecting premium, organic teas, herbs and florals, and where possible, sourcing locally, is of utmost importance. Each element of a blend adds its own unique scent, flavour, and health benefits, and when brewed together, form a powerful concoction. To ensure and maintain this quality, I made a commitment to blending my organic teas in small batches so they could be savoured and enjoyed as fresh as possible.
Each of our blends is made using certified, organic ingredients, hand-blended and free from artificial colours and flavours.

The world is full of wonderful plants and herbs that can benefit your mind, body, and tantalise your taste buds at the same time. Combining them can boost the benefits of each tea and herb. I hope that my unique and delicious tea blends bring you joy and comfort which you may share with the people around you!
